How to Use LYRMA Products
Setup, safety, first burn, smoke-free extinguishing, care and storage. For beeswax candles — extra, professional tips.
Quick checklist
- Level, stable, heat-resistant surface
- Holder with high rim or heat-proof pad (for candles)
- No drafts and no flammables nearby
- Product label instructions read
- (Candles) Wick trimmed to 5–7 mm
First burn: no tunnelling
Let the top layer of wax melt edge to edge. Rough guide:
- Ø up to 3 cm — 30–45 min
- Ø 3–5 cm — 1–2 h
- Ø > 5 cm — 2–3 h
Wick length
Before each lighting trim to 5–7 mm. Remove the “mushroom” tip if it forms.
Placement & safety
Use a holder with a high rim or a heat-proof pad. Avoid drafts — they tilt the flame and cause uneven burn.
Smoke-free extinguishing
Use a snuffer/cap. Blowing by mouth creates soot and may splash hot wax.
Burn sessions & cooling
- Single session — up to 3 h (large — up to 4 h).
- Let wax fully solidify before the next lighting.
Protecting surfaces
Wood, lacquer and stone can heat up. Use a pad or a holder with a high rim.
Beeswax candles: key points
Natural scent
Delicate honey aroma with no synthetic fragrances.
Bloom (crystallisation)
Light haze is a sign of pure wax. Polish gently with a microfiber cloth.
Stable flame
With a 5–7 mm wick and no drafts it burns evenly with minimal soot.
Storage
Cool, dry, away from sunlight. Store upright, away from heat sources.
If something goes wrong
Smoke/soot
Cause: long wick, draft. Fix: trim the wick, remove drafts.
Tunnelling
Cause: short first burn. Fix: run 1–2 full edge-to-edge burns.
Wick “mushroom”
Cause: high intensity burn. Fix: pinch off the tip, trim to 5–7 mm.
Uneven melting
Cause: wind/tilted wick. Fix: re-centre the wick, change location.
